Who says school spirit can't also be for profit?

So you attend a real school (D1 and above).  You camp out for games, tailgate religiously, and paint your face like a tool.  Almost everything you own has your school logo on it.  You refer to your star athletes on a first name basis, because you, like every other die hard fan, “know” your players.  Your team, more often than not, has a reputable program (meaning you actually win games).  Whether it be Badminton, Dodgeball, Chess, Swimming or Diving year in and year out you guys are ranked.  Your team always gets invited to a bowl game.  Alumni come far and wide just to watch your team play.  You have chants, cheers, and other unique gay symbols of pride.

So I ask you…..Why aren’t you riding your school’s athletic accomplishments?

What do you mean Alex?

You know damn well that I mean! As if schools don’t profit enough on you with all of the fees and special topics charges they bill you with.  As if you don’t bust a freaking nut just trying to pay your d*mn tuition every semester. Finally, you have an opportunity to make some money and something to look forward to at the beginning of the semester.

How you ask?

Simple.

PROFIT OFF YOUR SCHOOL’S ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Step 1: In the beginning of the season start to pick out the games that you think will actually be big.  If you know anything about college athletics this shouldn’t be too hard.  You know the huge games….Texas vs. Oklahoma, Florida vs. Alabama, Georgia vs. Georgia Tech, Oklahoma State vs, Oklahoma, Florida State vs. Florida, Midwestern State University vs. Texas Tech.  Depending on the sport this could change dramatically.  For example, we all know that in swimming nothing beats Troy University vs. University of North Carolina.

Step 2: As soon as tickets go on sale purchase as many as your meager credit card will allow you to and then just wait.  Wait until it gets closer to game day, wait until people start to realize they haven’t actually purchased tickets yet and are willing to do just about anything for tickets.

Step 3: List your tickets, slightly cheaper than everyone else but still at a profit, for sale at EBAY, Craigslist, StubHub

Step 4: Eventually, if the demand is strong enough, someone will buy your tickets.

Step 5: Repeat the cycle.

Thanks to Texas Tech football I made $985 off 3 games.  That’s right 3 games.  Total amount of work put into this process: 2 hours.  Who doesn’t enjoy making $492.50 an hour?  This process does work, especially if you just so happen to find yourself at a school with a reputable athletic anything.

Stop letting your school win. Ride your school’s athletic accomplishments like me and reap the benefits.  So now instead of just attending the games, waiting in line, tailgating, painting your face, cheering your team to victory and walking away empty handed you, unlike most other “fans”,  have the ability to do so knowing you have just profited ridiculously.

Feel free to pass this message along and let us know of any tips, or stories, on how you have profited off your school!
